To get away from it all...

Eli and I went camping this weekend... a much needed break! We went down into Diamond Fork Canyon and spent the night with friends and family, singing around the campfire and cooking up some good grub. The next morning we got up and went for a walk, appreciating the good weather and loving the scenery. Eli practiced his "Survivor Man"

skills as he built a fire using the "bow and arrow technique..." Well, he got some smoke anyways. We spent our day being lazy in the sun, skipping rocks at the nearby river and taking a nap in the afternoon. What an amazing weekend!

NCAA in LA

The BYU Women's Basketball team made it to the first round of the NCAA tournament, so I packed my bags and headed for L.A. on a charter flight. We got there a day early, so my travel squad and I spent the day at the beach. Luckily for us, one of the girls on our squad was from the area. She offered to let us use her family's private villa and beach... and it was beautiful! We spent the day on a private section of Laguna Beach where her parents treated us to an amazing barbeque- fruit, chicken, salad, oh my! We built a big fire in the fire pit and roasted marshmallows. It was a little chilly, but that didn't stop people from skim boarding and body surfing. It was just the break we needed, since BYU doesn't get a Spring Break. Even though the basketball team lost in the first round, the trip was more than worth it. Too bad Eli had to stay home and actually go to his classes...
