Arizona-bound
Eli was offered an interview at Arizona's Midwestern University. Since it is cheaper to drive than to fly, Jax and I get to go on a road trip with Eli this weekend! We are leaving tomorrow afternoon (Friday) and driving to the Grand Canyon. We really wanted to camp, but it will be too cold. We're still going to build a fire and do the "camping thing", but we'll be sleeping in our car for the night! Saturday morning we'll get up and hike/walk around to see the sights. Saturday afternoon we'll finish the drive to Glendale (just outside of Phoenix) and we'll see where the wind blows us from there! I'm waaaaaaaay excited to leave this cold Utah winter and enjoy the 75 degree sunshine that has been gracing Phoenix with its presence!

I love Amazon.com
I've been cleaning out my closets, bookshelves, nooks and crannies and pulled out any old textbooks (and other "throwaways") that I thought could maybe be worth a buck or two if sold on craigslist. I posted them, title by title, on craigslist and KSL, but didn't get any bites. So, I figured it was my turn to bite (the bullet) and post on Amazon.com. I have been avoiding this because of the commission fees that you have to pay! But the good news is that it has paid off! We were able to sell 13 books this week and put a little extra grocery money in our pockets for this month. Hooray! I now love Amazon.com. They will let me sell all of the textbooks that BYU wouldn't buy back.
A Busy Start to the New Year!
We had a wonderful Christmas season, enjoying time spent with family and dear friends. We were lucky to have smooth flights--Jax was a champ!--and good weather in Georgia this year. With the holidays come and gone, we find ourselves with an exciting year ahead of us!
We have decided to move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Eli will start dental school at Marquette University this coming Fall semester. The winters will be cold, but we'll hopefully keep warm while enjoying the friendly attitudes of the people of the Midwest. I'm also looking forward to being so close to my aunt and uncle, Shelly & Kevin, who have a beautiful daughter (named Sadie) who is a little younger than Jax. It will be fun to live near family and to let the kids get to know one another--they've never met!
Another round of exciting news will come in 3 weeks when we find out whether we can expect a little boy or a little girl to join us in June! That's right--I'm pregnant! Just over 17 weeks along now, and I figure it's about time I tell people because I am getting a serious pooch for a belly. We are ecstatic and can't wait to see what a great big brother Jax is going to be. My due date, as of now, is June 24th. So, we'll greet Milwaukee as a family of four!
Eli is staying very busy, carrying 21 credit hours at BYU and working 25 hours per week as a dental assistant. He loves his job, and is sooo beyond ready for school to be over. I think if he can make it through this semester alive dental school will seem like a breath of fresh air! He's still the president of the pre-dental club at BYU and, as such, stays busy ALL THE TIME! We see eachother late at night for about an hour, and that's it. I guess this is just getting me ready for the hours he'll be keeping at Marquette. Jax gets excited on the days when Daddy comes home for lunch (about twice per week). Eli drops in to see Jax (and me) whenever he can during the day, and sometimes Jax stays up a little past bedtime to see his daddy if it's been a while. We're all adjusting, and doing well so far!
