A Great Catch

...Yes, I'm referring to Eli :)

Eli went fishing with the dentist he works with (they're buds, particularly because the rest of the office is full of women!) the last two Saturdays. It is great because he gets to go relax, and he brings home dinner for us. Yesterday he brought home about 6 rainbow trout, each fish averaging between 13 and 15 inches long. We didn't eat them last night (because we've been eating fish all week from the last fishing trip) but we put them in the freezer to save for a rainy day.

Apparently Eli has a certain fishing spot that requires him to scale a rock wall. I guess he feels like it is worth the trouble because he pretty much always catches a fish anytime he casts there. Here is a video of it:

My Warrior Healthcare Professional

Eli was sworn into the Army's HPSP (Healthcare Professionals Scholarship Program) last Thursday at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City, UT. They put together a really nice program, and enlisted the participation of Elder Lance Wickman to speak to the Army Recruits. Overall it was a really nice program. At one point, the speaker referred to the Army Recruits (i.e., Eli) as "Warrior Healthcare Professionals."
We are excited to participate in this program and feel honored to have been accepted. We have already met some great people during the application process, and look forward to what the future holds for us.
Eli may be attending Officer Basic Training in Texas this summer, if he is selected to do so. We'll keep you posted!

Congratulations!

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to my brother Chase, and his new fiancee Chelsea! They got engaged this week and are planning a wedding this summer (around August 1 from what I hear). We are so excited and couldn't be happier for the two of you!!

Our Big Boy

Jax is growing all the time, and there is nothing "baby" left about him. From his sassy attitude to his need for independence, he reminds me everyday that he is a big boy! Yesterday we changed his convertible crib from a crib to a toddler bed, and he is so excited to have a "big boy bed!" He fell asleep right away for nap time, but bed time was a little more of a struggle--apparently there are so many fun things to do in his room now that he can get out of bed whenever he wants!

Here are a couple of recent pictures of Jax, being busy and cute as always!
